Gulf Aviation Safety Union meeting discusses challenges of drone systems at Gulf airports


The second meeting of the Gulf Aviation Safety Federation in Abu Dhabi City, Gulf Center for Aviation Studies, was launched this morning, 23/10/2019. The meeting aims to present the existing challenges and exchange experiences about unmanned aircraft systems, which results in confusion and stopping of airports and the disruption of air navigation as a result Its "unauthorized" flight near, around, or above airports. The meeting is also concerned with educating airline companies, aviation authorities and organizations in the Persian Gulf about drone systems, their peaceful uses, and reviewing the latest technologies to tackle drones in the vicinity of airports. More than 100 people representing major aviation companies attend the meeting



Speakers were also hosted from various aviation sectors to introduce the importance of unmanned aircraft systems and services in the aviation sector and explain the harm caused if the safety aspect is neglected when operating such systems near airports.
